They are also eliminated from the FA Cup which they won last season and failed to win the League Cup.

And now they face a battle for a top-four result with their dismal season leaving them seven points behind fourth-placed Tottenham.

Boss Jurgen Klopp is facing a major makeover of his aging squad this summer and although he became Liverpool’s highest-paid player of all time when he recently signed a new long-term deal, rumors of Salah’s departure have been rife.

With Liverpool set for a transitional summer, there have been many rumors that Salah could be sacked. Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona have both been touted as potential suitors.

French publication Foot Mercato claim that the 30-year-old Egyptian striker is “increasingly” considering a move.

Both Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona have been linked, while this sensational report says an unnamed Spanish club is his preferred move.

However, after the story was shared on Twitter by worried Liverpool fans, Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas Issa was quick to try to quell the speculation.

He tweeted: “Where did you get that if Mohamed and I didn’t even talk about it? Please tell us.”

Salah, who has two years left on his contract at Anfield, was recently seized by police with his stolen Africa Cup of Nations medal after a break-in at his Cairo mansion.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of ransacking the footballer’s luxury Egyptian villa on March 2.

Salah’s Africa Cup of Nations silver medal was recovered along with a host of other stolen items.

According to Egyptian daily Al-Ahram, the luxury home is worth £350,000 a week.

One of the suspected thieves worked as a security guard at Salah’s condominium, according to the Egyptian Interior Ministry.
