North End Residents Voice Complaints About Outdoor Dining

BOSTON (CBS) — Some residents of Boston’s North End are fed up with outdoor dining.

Dozens of neighbors voiced their concerns to city officials Monday night, The Boston Globe reports. They are unhappy with crowded sidewalks, a lack of parking in the neighborhood and cramped streets.

Expanded outdoor dining has helped some restaurants bring in more business during the pandemic.

The head of the Boston licensing board told residents they are considering plans for next year.

The city’s outdoor dining program is scheduled to run through Dec. 1.

Budget 2023 expected to unveil renters’ credit and third-level fee cut

 A tax credit for renters and double benefits are among the measures expected in the 2023 Budget, which is formally presented in the Chamber of Parliament of Ireland at 1pm on Tuesday. n one of Ireland’s biggest budgets in years, the coalition government is under pressure to strike the right balance as energy, fuel, food and housing bills skyrocket. New York subway workers ignored ‘bloody’ attack: lawsuit

  A Brooklyn man claims a confused stranger loosened his front teeth during a random scuffle on a Village F-Bahn platform – and transit workers did nothing to intervene, according to a lawsuit. Bret Mahrer, 29, was minding his business on the northbound train as he pulled into the West 14th Street/6th Avenue station when he noticed a stranger “looking intently at him” and “mouthing something,” according to court records. When the train doors opened, the man started to leave, but suddenly turned and punched Mahrer in the face as he was standing on the train. “Everything happened in a millisecond. He just hit me so hard,” Mahrer said. “He idiot hit me.
